Itinerary

Day 1

Our one and a half hour trip starts off at 8:30 in the morning from Castro. After getting together with our guide for quick instructions on getting along with our horse companion for our trip we head out northward, passing the small town of Chanquin and the First nation community of Huentemo, where we stop for our first break while enjoying some Paraguayan tea Mate and homemade country bread called “tortillas.” Afterwards we pick up the trail to Cole-Cole all the while reveling in the ever changing variety of landscape filled with native flora. By the end of this leg of the trip on horseback we’re ready for a bit of trekking, bathing and well deserved rest. The sunset greets us with a bonfire, exquisite food, wine and tranquility so inherent to the place.

Duration of Excursion is 6 to 7 hours

Day 2

Hearty country breakfast; An hour or so of trekking to the Arrayan forest and then we dismantle our campsite before heading back to Cucao.

Duration of Excursion: 6-7 hours

Includes:
